EMBRACE YOUR IDENTITY
Retori Chapter 02 is a poetic exploration of identity, transformation, and belonging. Inspired by the evocative work of Dutch-Indonesian artist Miko Veldkamp, who is born in Suriname and shaped by many worlds, this chapter weaves narratives of cultural multiplicity and fluid selfhood into each design. Veldkamp’s layered dreamscapes, marked by motifs of water, reflections, and circular forms, mirror the ebb and flow of personal evolution. His art, grounded in memory and movement across landscapes and identities, informs a collection that celebrates the beauty of being more than one thing at once.
Each piece balances structure and fluidity, echoing the contrasts and harmonies of Veldkamp’s visual language. Grids and patterns meet vibrant hues and soft textures, evoking a sense of rhythmic transformation.
